In an age of cd burning, 10-second downloads, and computerized graphics, we are losing our connection with both the value of recorded music and the delight in utilizing our creativity in a simple art or craft. I invite you to rediscover the child in you and follow the easy steps below in making your own CD, and your own one-of-a-kind CD case. The music is free and the artwork and template are free. So, get out your Elmer's, have fun, and tell your friends!

Supplies you will need:
a blank, recordable CD
a sharpie
1 sheet of cardstock, 8 1/2 X 11, any color
2 sheets of white printer paper, 8 1/2 X 11
scissors
glue

9 Super Easy Steps for Making a Mary Mulliken CD:
Step 1: Insert a blank CD into your disc drive
Step 2: Click on the button that says "Download Music Now"

Step 3: Drag music files into program for burning CD (ie. Toast) and click on "Burn".
Step 4: Eject the CD and label it "The Place I've Never Been © 2008, Mary Mulliken" with your sharpie. Place the CD in your CD player and press "play."
Step 5: Turn on your printer. Put 2 pieces of white paper in the paper feeder, and your piece of cardstock in front of them.

Step 6: Click on the button that says "Download template and artwork now"
Step 7: When a pdf file appears on your desktop, double click on it, and select print, all pages.
Step 8: Watch as your Do-It-Yourself CD case emerges from your printer. Get your scissors and glue ready for crafting.
Step 9: Follow the simple instructions for making a CD case out of cardstock. Then, cut out whatever you like from the art pages and collage your own masterpiece. Make a whole batch and give them as gifts!
